DONATION DETAILS

In the transition to a remote mode of learning, thousands of students may find difficulty in keeping up with the demands that come with it. According to the UP Media and Public Relations Office, 5,600 UP students are in trouble with lack of access to technology for education, 4,000 students are unable to have stable access to online resources due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 1,600 students have no access to any technology tools at all. Given these circumstances and other contemporary reasons, dropping out of the university may be an option for those who will get left behind.

In line with the students’ call for #NoStudentLeftBehind and #WalangIwanan, we are launching #TulongIsko, a donation drive for students of the University of the Philippines Diliman to aid them in transitioning to the proposed remote learning for the UP System, carrying our campaign of 5 Point Student Demands for a safe, quality, accessible education amidst the pandemic. The donation drive was first launched on July 26, 2020, in coordination with UP Diliman University Student Council, the highest representative institution of students of the University of the Philippines Diliman, and a lead council convenor of the alliance. The alliance is also in close coordination with the UP Diliman Administration to properly identify the students who need assistance and will be the beneficiaries of this project.
